The trip starts at Fez, direction Ifrane, a beautiful city up in the mountains, so beautiful it is also called Moroccan Switzerland !
You will stop to see the Stone Lion, carved by a German Soldier during WW2 in honor of the last Atlas Lion.
Next stop will be in the largest forest of Morocco, Cedar Forest, where you will probably spot some monkeys living in the wild in the forest.
As you continue to the village of Azrou, you will take the road crossing the Middle Atlas and drive across Midelt (capital of apples) in Ziz Valley.
A stop to taste the local traditions and the visit of the gorges before reaching Errachidia then Erfoud and your day trip will end at Merzouga, a village of former nomads, where you will appreciate the peace of the desert in a hotel overlooking the dunes.
You will explore the desert by four-wheel drive, enjoy a tour in the dunes, visit some oases and Khamlia, a village famous for its Gnaoua music, where your guide will explain the historical importance of this people from Black Africa.
Then, you will visit some Berber nomads and share a special moment with them in the desert.
Back to the village, and after a short camel ride to enjoy the sunset over the dunes you will enjoy a traditional tajine for dinner, meet some nomads around a campfire, admire the beautiful night sky and finally you will have a good night sleep in a Berber tent.
Your guide will wake you up to admire the marvellous sunrise over the dunes of the Sahara, then back to the village of Merzouga for breakfast and a wash.
You will continue in the direction of Ouarzazate, passing Rissani, (former economic capital of Morocco), where you can stop and visit its souk, one of the biggest souk in Southern Morocco.
Continuing towards Todra Gorges, Dades valley, Roses Valley and Skoura oasis, you will arrive at Ouarzazate, and go to your hotel.
You will spend some time in the city of Ouarzazate, visit the amazing Ait Ben Haddou kashba, a UNESCO world heritage, where many films, such as « Lawrence of Arabia », « Gladiator », « The Mummy » and « Game of Thrones » were shot.
On your way to Marrakesh, you will admire the Great Atlas mountains going over Tizi n’Tichka pass (altitude:2260m) ; arrival in the evening at Marrakesh, where your guide will drop you off at your hotel or at the airport.
