A car will pick you up at your hotel in Marrakesh to start a tour in Dades Valley.
You will drive up Tizi n’ Tichka pass in the Great Atlas mountains (altitude : 2260m),
where you will admire the spectacular view over the mountains.
Then you will continue towards Ait ben Haddou, a UNESCO world heritage famous for its
decors used in many films, such as « Laurence d’Arabie / Lawrence of Arabia »,
« Gladiator », « Game of thrones » et « Alexander ».
A delicious meal will be waiting for you before continuing the trip, enjoying marvellous
landscapes, visiting Taourirt Kasbah, a historical monument.
Along the Vallée des Roses or Roses Valley, famous for its rose festival, you will see the
city of Ouarzazat.
Driving along the road leading to small Berber villages, Skoura, El Kelaa des M’Gouna and
finally Boumalene Dades, where you will end your first day trip, have dinner and stay
overnight in a Bed and Breakfast hotel.
Leaving Boumalene Dades, you will then head towards Merzouga driving through
Erg Chebbi , one of the biggest dune in Morocco.
On your way, you will go across Tinghir, a Berber village, where you will discover the
Gorges de Todra or Todra Gorges, with its 600m high cliffs.
When you leave Todra, you will again go through many Berber villages, stopping at
Tinjdad for a nice lunch. Or if you prefer and if you have time, you can stop at Rissani for
a local specialty: a Berber pizza !
After lunch, you will continue towards Merzouga, in the desert ; there, you will enjoy a
camel ride up to Erb Chebbi dune, a 20m long and 5 to 8 km wide dune, the largest sand
dune in North Africa. You will ride across the desert and discover the real life of nomads. A
campfire and a nicely-equipped and comfortable tent will welcome you. The beauty of the
night sky will surprise you !
